 HR Generalist

The Chicken Farmers of Ontario (CFO) HR Generalist is responsible for the coordination and administration of day-to-day people operations. The HR Generalist will undertake a wide range of HR tasks, including organizing trainings, administering employee benefits and leaves and crafting HR policies. Using a Human Resources Information Systems to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential. While acting as the main point of contact for employees’ queries on HR-related topics.

The goal is to ensure the HR department’s operations will be running smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization as a whole.
 
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
 
1. Program Execution
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; employee records; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
  • Maintain and update human resources documents such as organizational charts, employees’ handbooks or directories or evaluation forms as required
  • Research, review and update of HR policies in accordance with applicable legislation
  • Assist payroll department by providing relevant employee information
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs
2. Employee Processes
  • Manage and assist with the development and implementation of the career development program
  • Manage and provide recommendation with the performance management tool for all staff
  • Monitor, audit and evaluate performance through the performance management process
  • Manage employee vacation, absenteeism on Employee Central through Success Factors HRIS System
  • Partner with hiring managers for recruiting - post, screen and interview applicants
  • Plan, Organize, conduct orientation program for all new hires
3. Team Development
  • Manage and assist with the development and implementation of the career development program
  • Source and recommend training programs as required
  • Partner or lead to plan and execute staff events
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • University degree/College diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or working towards certification
  • 2-3 years in a HR Generalist role
Technical Skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Adobe Software
  • Video conferencing software ie. Zoom, MS Teams
  • Data entry experience

  • Conducts manners with strict confidentiality, demonstrating strong integrity
  • ​Excellent professional communication (written and interpersonal) skills with "team player” attitude
  • Problem-solver who takes initiative and can approach communication with understanding and empathy
  • Attention to detail
    Bilingual in English/French is an asset
