The upcoming round of District Meetings and Nomination Meetings will be reverting to a virtual / online format due to the prevalence of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) throughout the province.


NOMINATION & ELECTION PROCESS

Chicken Farmers of Ontario (CFO) is dedicated to responsible leadership and governance excellence. The CFO governance structure consists of elected Board Directors and District Committee Representatives (DCRs) from across the province. Everyday, this team of strategic-thinking, skilled and passionate individuals help to ensure the Ontario chicken industry continues to be strong, vibrant and, most importantly, an effective network that all Ontario chicken farmers can be proud to be a part of.

This year, nominations for Board Directors and District Committee Representatives will be taking place in Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Successful candidates will begin their term at the CFO Annual General Meeting on Monday, March 6, 2023. CFO farmers will be required to register to their respective District Meeting in order to place their nomination (in 2022) and election votes as applicable (in 2023). District Meetings are only open to CFO farmers. CLICK HERE for more information on the Nomination & Election process. 

Meetings will be held via Zoom. For instructions on how to use Zoom CLICK HERE. CFO will send an email to all registrants prior to the start of each scheduled meeting with instructions on how to access the virtual event.

Registration closes 4 hours before each meeting.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs):

Do I need to register to my District meeting?
Yes, it is important for CFO farmers to register their attendance to their respective District Meeting in order to nominate a candidate should they wish to do so (in 2022), and to receive a voting ballot as applicable (in 2023).
 
Can I attend another District’s meeting, other than my own?
No, due to the fact that nominations must be held in Districts 1-5, and District Meetings are being held in Districts 6-9, CFO farmers are only permitted to attend the meeting in which they reside. 


 
How can I nominate a CFO farmer for a District Committee Representative (DCR) or Board Director position?
CFO farmers in attendance at a nomination District Meeting will be given the opportunity to nominate a fellow CFO farmer for a DCR or Board Director position at the appropriate time during the meeting.
 
How many Board Director and DCR positions are available in each of the nine Districts?

There is one Board Director per District. 

The number of DCRs per District fluctuates based on number of farmer-members who reside in the District. 

The number of DCR positions for the upcoming nominations/elections in Districts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are listed below:

District 1: 4 DCRs
District 2: 5 DCRs
District 3: 5 DCRs
District 4: 3 DCRs
District 5: 3 DCRs
 


What email address should I provide when registering for a meeting?
It is important to use the same email address that is recorded in your CFO Connects account. This will allow CFO staff to confirm your identification and eligibility to vote.
