Greenwich Room, Hilton Meadowvale, Mississauga, ON

8:30 AM – 9:15 AM Down and out on the Farm: Mental Health in Canadian Agriculture
Andria Jones-Bitton, Associate Professor of Epidemiology, Department of Population Medicine, Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph

Description: the stresses experienced by farmers are varied, and most are beyond their control. Unsurprisingly, research from several countries reports farmers' mental health to be poorer than the general population. In this interactive presentation, Dr. Jones-Bitton will share her team's research on farmer mental health in Canada, including statistics and risk factors for several mental health outcomes, current efforts to help address the mental health issues facing Canada's agricultural community, and strategies to help improve wellness of people working in agriculture.
9:15 AM – 9:30 AM Wrap-up

All farmer-members wishing to attend the Women in Leadership Breakfast must register for the breakfast through the Annual General Meeting registration form (CLICK HERE).
