2020/2021 Virtual District, Nomination & Election Meetings

Chicken Farmers of Ontario (CFO) is dedicated to responsible leadership and governance excellence. The CFO governance structure consists of elected Board Directors and District Committee Representatives (DCRs) from across the province. Everyday, this team of strategic-thinking, skilled and passionate individuals help to ensure the Ontario chicken industry continues to be strong, vibrant and, most importantly, an effective network that all Ontario chicken farmers can be proud to be a part of.

This year, nominations for Board Directors and District Committee Representatives will be taking place virtually in Districts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. As we're forced to do things differently this year, the nomination/election process will be administered through digital solution and will commence in December 2020 and be completed in February 2021. Successful candidates will begin their term at the Virtual CFO Annual General Meeting on March 25, 2021.

Farmer-members will be required to register to their respective district meeting in order to place their nomination (in 2020) and election votes as applicable (in 2021). CLICK HERE to register.

Nomination Meeting FAQs:

Do I need to register to my District meeting?
Yes, it is important for farmer-members to register their attendance to their respective District Meeting in order to receive the log in details for the Microsoft Teams meeting, to nominate a candidate should they wish to do so (in 2020), and to receive a digital voting ballot as applicable (in 2021).
 
What email address should I provide when registering for a meeting?
It is important to use the same email address that is recorded in your CFO Connects account. This will allow CFO staff to confirm your identification and eligibility to vote.
 
Can I attend another District’s meeting, other than my own?
Yes, you are welcome to attend a meeting from District 6 through 9, but not the Districts hosting elections (Districts 1-5) as these meeting will be only open to their respective farmer-members due to the digital nominations and voting.
 
How can I nominate a farmer-member for a District Committee Representative (DCR) or Board Director position?
Farmer-members in attendance at a virtual nomination District Meeting will be given the opportunity to nominate a fellow farmer-member for a DCR or Board Director position by unmuting their microphone at the appropriate time during the meeting.
