CFO demonstrates industry leadership through farmer-member education series at London Poultry Show

LONDON, ON – April 7, 2017 – Chicken Farmers of Ontario (CFO) hosted farmer-members from across the province at this week’s London Poultry Show. The London Poultry Show is one of North America’s premier poultry events and brings the industry together on an annual basis. This year the show celebrated its 60th anniversary and CFO was once again proud to be the signature sponsor, providing networking and educational opportunities to farmer-members and industry partners.

Over the course of two days, the CFO Board of Directors, District Committee Representatives and staff-associates met with over 200 farmer-members to discuss latest chicken industry news and Board business at the CFO Educational Seminar Series, CFO Connects drop-in centre and the annual CFO farmer-member reception.

Now in its fifth year, the CFO Educational Seminar Series at the London Poultry Show featured value-creating topics and brought together industry experts to provide insight into strategic initiatives for the Ontario chicken community. Seminar content featured Ontario’s transition to modular loading, the Board’s commitment to chick supply optimization, best management practices for brooding and early chick performance, and what the Feather Board Command Centre (FBCC) is doing to combat potential disease outbreaks such as Avian Influenza.

CFO would like to thank all farmer-members who were able to participate in the recent seminar series. In addition, the Board will be hosting a round of farmer-member information meetings in May 2017 which will cover similar and additional content. Information on the next round of meetings will become available shortly on ontariochicken.ca.
