Growing demand drives significant investment in Ontario’s agriculture and agri-food chicken industry

BURLINGTON, ON – November 28, 2018 – As consumers continue to choose chicken as their primary source of protein, Ontario is proving to be an attractive business hub for agriculture and agri-food investment and growth opportunities.

On November 26, 2018, Maple Leaf Foods announced plans to build a $660 million value-added fresh poultry facility in London, Ontario. As stated, the new 640,000 square feet facility is expected to be one of the most technologically advanced poultry-processing plants in the world, with leading-edge food safety, environmental, and animal welfare processes and technologies.
