National allocations for A-157 and A-158 set at +1.5% and +1.5%

BURLINGTON, ON – March 21, 2019 – National allocations for both A-157 (June 9, 2019 – August 3, 2019) and A-158 (August 4, 2019 - September 28, 2019) were set at 1.5% above the adjusted bases at the Chicken Farmers of Canada (CFC) meeting on March 20, 2019 in Ottawa, Ontario.

The demand for Chicken in Canada appears to have entered a phase of healthy, moderate growth following six years of strong, consistent growth.

CFO has examined supply and demand factors to assess market needs for A-157 and A-158 through quantitative analyses as well as consultations with industry partners and experts. CFO’s recommendation is framed on a public policy of “balanced best interest” upon weighing the various factors and perspectives.

The volumes, in eviscerated kilograms, for Ontario and Canada as calculated by the allocation formula are:

                        Ontario         Growth                   Canada               Growth
