National allocations for A-155 and A-156 set at +2.0% and +2.5%

BURLINGTON, ON – November 22, 2018 – National allocations for A-155 (Feb 17, 2019 – Apr 13, 2019) and A-156 (Apr 14, 2019 – June 8, 2019) were set at 2% and 2.5% above the adjusted bases at the Chicken Farmers of Canada (CFC) meeting on November 21st, 2018 in Ottawa, Ontario.

The Canadian market for chicken appears to be entering a phase of moderating growth following six years of strong, consistent growth.

CFO has examined supply and demand factors to assess market needs for A-155 and A-156 and finds market signals to be mixed. CFO has consulted with industry partners and experts to further understand market conditions. CFO’s recommendation is based on weighing the quantitative analyses as well as the qualitative insights, and is framed on a public policy of “balanced best interest”.

The volumes, in eviscerated kilograms, for Ontario and Canada as calculated by the allocation formula are:
