National allocations for A-160 set at +2.5%

BURLINGTON, ON – Aug 14, 2019 – National allocation for A-160 (Nov. 24, 2019 –  Jan. 18, 2020) was set at +2.5% above the adjusted base at the Chicken Farmers of Canada (CFC) meeting on August 13th, 2019 in Saskatoon, SK.

The demand for Chicken in Canada has experienced healthy and moderate growth. The long-term growth projection for chicken remains healthy and positive – chicken is expected to remain the fastest growing segment in the meat protein market. 

CFO has examined supply and demand factors to assess market needs for A-160 through quantitative analyses as well as consultations with industry partners and experts. CFO’s recommendation is framed on a public policy of “balanced best interest” upon weighing the various factors and perspectives.

The volumes, in eviscerated kilograms, for Ontario and Canada as calculated by the allocation formula are:
