Premier Ford Hosts Taste of Ontario Showcase

Ontario chicken featured at meeting of Canada’s first ministers

TORONTO, ON – December 1, 2019 – Chicken Farmers of Ontario (CFO) participates in Taste of Ontario showcase hosted by Premier Ford. The reception was part of the festivities to kick-off the Council of the Federation meetings taking place in Toronto.

Premiers and first ministers from across Canada, along with Indigenous leaders, joined Ontario cabinet ministers and MPPs for an evening featuring products from Ontario’s agriculture industry – including Ontario chicken wings.

“Ontario chicken farmers are grateful for the opportunity to work with the Ontario government to highlight our business and discuss the hard work of our 1,300 family-run farms across the province,” said Ed Benjamins, Chair of Chicken Farmers of Ontario. “We thank Premier Ford for including Ontario chicken in the Taste of Ontario showcase, and for his ongoing promotion of Ontario agriculture businesses.”

Over thirty Ontario cabinet ministers and MPPs attended the reception and visited the CFO table to discuss issues of importance for the Ontario chicken industry.

“Continuing to build strong and productive relationships is part of how Chicken Farmers of Ontario is working to deliver on our commitment to advancing sustainable, high-quality chicken agriculture and enabling prosperous livelihoods for all Ontario chicken farmers,” said Rob Dougans, President & CEO of Chicken Farmers of Ontario.
