New Entrant Chicken Processors Program

The New Entrant Chicken Processors Program was established to ensure that new enterprises wishing to process chicken in Ontario and address market opportunities would be able to do so following a successful application process.  The new program makes up to 100,000 kilos of calculated base available to successful new chicken processor applicants each year.

The Program will help lead the industry and provide new strategic market segment processing capacity to benefit the sustainable economic growth of fresh, high quality, locally-farmed and processed chicken in Ontario.

CFO is working towards identifying a new strategic market segment following the successful application of Yorkshire Valley Farms supporting the Organic sector in 2016. This business development work to establish a “case for action” will likely involve targeted market research and analysis, as well as consultation with industry value chain stakeholders.
